Job Summary
Plan International seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Risk Management & Compliance Coordinator to strengthen risk management systems, ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and support internal control processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying risks, improving controls, and supporting programme accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of risk management and compliance frameworks across programmes and operations.
- Identify, assess, and monitor organisational and project risks, recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
- Strengthen internal control systems and support continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including World Bank Group, FCDO, USAID, ECHO, EU, DFAT, UN, and other development partners.
- Support internal audits, reviews, and follow-up on audit recommendations.
- Design and deliver training, coaching, and facilitation sessions on risk and compliance practices.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely risk and compliance reports for management decision-making.
- Engage stakeholders to promote a strong risk-aware organisational culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Auditing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in internal audit, internal control, risk management, or a related area.
- Professional qualification or certification in accounting/auditing (e.g., ACCA, CIA, CPA).
- Familiarity with donor-funded development programmes and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of the local legal and regulatory environment.
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of risk management concepts and frameworks.
- Ability to design, review, and improve systems, processes, and controls.
- Facilitation, training, and coaching capabilities.
- Proficiency in French (spoken and written) and intermediate English language skills.
Soft Skills
- High integrity, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Strong advisory, listening, and collaboration skills.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and highly organized with attention to detail.
