Position Summary
As an IT Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our technical systems and equipment. You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and support a wide range of technology infrastructure while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to deliver high-quality technical support and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance
- Inspect, monitor, and maintain systems, equipment, and technical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive servicing to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Identify potential technical issues and implement corrective measures before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment histories.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose technical faults, equipment failures, and system malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
- Repair or replace defective components and equipment as required.
- Test repaired systems and equipment to verify proper functionality and performance.
Technical Support & System Improvement
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and upgrade of systems, devices, and technical infrastructure.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing systems and operational processes.
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and technical partners to resolve complex technical issues.
- Recommend solutions that improve system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintenance reports, and service documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, equipment status, and technical activities.
- Develop and update preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Document technical findings and recommendations for management review and decision-making.
Parts Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Identify and source replacement parts, equipment, and technical materials.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers to meet operational and technical requirements.
- Obtain quotations and support procurement processes when necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance materials.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company policies, technical standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Follow approved safety procedures when handling equipment and performing repairs.
- Promote safe working practices and report potential hazards promptly.
- Participate in safety training and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum qualification: SHS/WASSCE Certificate.
- Technical certification, diploma, vocational training, or degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a technician role or a related technical position is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong understanding of technical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and IT infrastructure.
