Position Summary

The school is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented JHS Mathematics Teacher to deliver effective mathematics instruction at the Junior High School level. This role plays a key part in creating a positive and engaging classroom environment while preparing students for strong performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The successful candidate will plan and deliver lessons aligned with the GES curriculum and support students’ academic growth and confidence in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons in line with the GES curriculum.

• Prepare students effectively for the BECE, including assessments and revision activities.

• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and evaluation tools.

• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning.

• Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and class documentation.

• Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Support co-curricular and academic activities as required.

• Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to improve teaching outcomes.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Education (Mathematics preferred).

Experience & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of the GES curriculum and BECE requirements.

• Prior teaching experience at the JHS level is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.

• Effective classroom management and teaching skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Passion for teaching and student development.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
