Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Registrar and University Management in the effective coordination of the University’s day-to-day administrative activities.
- Coordinate and support the operations of assigned administrative units, faculties, schools, directorates, or departments.
- Assist in organizing University Council meetings, Management Committee meetings, and other official engagements, including preparing agendas, meeting papers, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Support the implementation, review, and monitoring of University policies, statutes, regulations, and strategic plans.
- Manage official correspondence, administrative records, and documentation in accordance with established University filing and records management procedures.
- Liaise with academic departments, administrative directorates, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on administrative matters.
- Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for University events, ceremonies, meetings, and official functions.
- Assist in preparing institutional reports, returns, submissions, and administrative documents required by regulatory and statutory bodies.
- Monitor compliance with public service regulations, University statutes, policies, and applicable legal requirements.
- Provide professional administrative advice and support to ensure efficient service delivery across assigned areas.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of General Administration, Registrar, Vice-Chancellor, or the University Council.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Hold a good Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management Studies, or a related discipline from a recognized university; or
- Hold an M.Phil. or a two-year research Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Applicants must also:
- Demonstrate strong administrative, organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Possess excellent report writing, record management, and analytical abilities.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications.
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within established timelines.
