Position Summary
Diagnostic Centre Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior IT & Facilities Support Officer to support the day-to-day technology and facilities operations of our Kumasi branch. This entry-level role combines IT support and facilities coordination responsibilities, ensuring the smooth functioning of branch infrastructure, technical systems, and support services.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary on-site contact for basic technology and technical support issues, while coordinating maintenance activities and escalating complex matters to the IT Manager, Branch Operations Manager, and external service providers as required.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Helpdesk
- Provide first-line IT support to branch staff by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, printer, and peripheral-related issues.
- Respond promptly to user support requests and ensure issues are resolved or escalated within agreed timelines.
- Assist with user account setup, device configuration, and routine system maintenance activities.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, scanners, and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of IT incidents, support requests, and resolutions.
Network & Infrastructure Support
- Conduct routine checks of branch IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues and escalate complex concerns when necessary.
- Support monitoring activities for firewall systems, CCTV infrastructure, and branch connectivity services.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers during maintenance and support visits.
Facilities & Technical Support
- Assist with routine inspections and basic maintenance checks of electrical systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, and other building infrastructure.
- Monitor branch facilities and report maintenance issues requiring corrective action.
- Support the coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for facilities and technical equipment.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, service schedules, and vendor engagements.
Biomedical Equipment & Technical Coordination
- Assist in coordinating maintenance and support activities for laboratory and biomedical equipment.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure equipment issues are addressed promptly.
- Support basic monitoring of laboratory instrument interfaces and related technical systems.
Compliance & Reporting
- Follow established standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Prepare basic support and maintenance reports as required.
- Escalate technical, operational, and facilities-related issues promptly to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in IT support, facilities maintenance, technical services, or a related role.
- Internship or National Service experience will be considered.
- Practical exposure to healthcare environments, medical equipment, laboratory systems, or building infrastructure is an advantage.
- Basic familiarity with firewall systems, preferably FortiGate, is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV and IP camera systems, preferably Hikvision.
- Practical understanding of electrical systems, HVAC maintenance, plumbing systems, and general mechanical maintenance checks.
- Basic understanding of PACS/DICOM workflows and laboratory instrument interfaces will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to following standard operating procedures.
- Good problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to escalate issues appropriately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic IT support tools.
