Position Summary
The Legal Officer will provide legal guidance and support to ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will manage legal matters related to contracts, labor law, debt recovery, litigation, trademarks, and commercial operations while supporting the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice on commercial transactions and operational matters.
- Ensure compliance with Ghanaian commercial, corporate, and labor laws.
- Support the company in handling labor and employment-related matters.
- Manage debt recovery processes and liaise with external legal representatives when necessary.
- Coordinate litigation matters and monitor legal proceedings involving the company.
- Handle trademark registration, protection, and related intellectual property matters.
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions to management.
- Maintain accurate legal documentation and records.
- Provide legal support to various departments to ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
- Qualification to practice law in Ghana is preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an FMCG, manufacturing, or commercial environment.
- Demonstrated experience in contracts, labor law, debt recovery, litigation, and trademarks.
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian commercial and labor laws.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
