About the Role

As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead production activities during your assigned shift to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. You will supervise production teams, coordinate resources, monitor equipment performance, and promote a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute production schedules and ensure shift targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Allocate work effectively and deploy shift personnel to meet operational requirements while ensuring full shift attendance.
  • Maximize the efficient use of manpower, equipment, and material resources throughout the shift.
  • Coordinate smooth shift handovers to minimize production downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Drive compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and quality standards across all production areas.
  • Conduct routine production line inspections to verify cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor plant equipment performance during line walk-throughs and promptly escalate operational issues.
  • Verify production stock during shift close, ensuring accurate labeling, proper storage, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor operator performance and ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Review and validate production records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely corrective actions where required.
  • Report production performance, operational issues, and process deviations to the Upstream/Downstream Leader.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to production operators to improve performance and capability.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team by providing accurate information on equipment faults and supporting planned maintenance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend and support improvement projects involving equipment, facilities, and production processes.
  • Participate in GMP, food safety, and quality audits, implementing corrective and preventive actions where required.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of Quality Management System (QMS) and HACCP documentation.
  • Ensure full implementation of QMS procedures related to production and maintain accurate production documentation, work instructions, and process records.
  • Review, analyze, and update production data within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support operational performance and process improvement.

About You

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • An equivalent technical qualification with relevant manufacturing experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within the food processing, FMCG, beverage, or related manufacturing industry.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising production teams and achieving shift performance targets.
  • Proven ability to optimize manpower, equipment, and material utilization.
  • Experience coordinating shift handovers while minimizing production interruptions.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to monitor production equipment performance and identify operational improvement opportunities.
  • Experience collaborating with maintenance teams to resolve equipment breakdowns and improve plant reliability.
  • Strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Maximo.
  • Familiarity with Data Historian applications and production data analysis.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
