Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, target-driven, and customer-focused Loan Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will identify prospective borrowers, assess loan applications, support customer onboarding, and manage loan portfolios while ensuring timely loan recovery and exceptional customer service. This role requires excellent relationship management skills and a commitment to achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect and onboard eligible clients for loan products and other financial services.
• Educate clients on available loan products, repayment terms, and eligibility requirements.
• Assess loan applications by conducting credit and background checks.
• Facilitate the loan application, appraisal, and approval process.
• Maintain accurate customer records and loan documentation.
• Monitor loan repayment schedules and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely recovery.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote customer retention and referrals.
• Achieve assigned loan disbursement, portfolio growth, and recovery targets.
• Conduct field visits and customer engagement activities to identify business opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
• Prepare periodic reports on loan portfolio performance, collections, and customer feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, lending procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to a welcoming, collaborative, and customer-centric work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in lending, banking, microfinance, sales, customer service, or a related role.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet performance targets.
• Knowledge of loan recovery processes will be an added advantage.
