Job Overview

As the Bakery Operations Supervisor, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the bakery, ensuring production runs efficiently, products consistently meet quality standards, and the team works safely and effectively. You will lead staff, coordinate production schedules, maintain compliance with food safety standards, and contribute to the profitability and continuous improvement of the business.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Supervise all daily bakery operations to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Lead, motivate, and support bakery staff to achieve operational goals.
• Plan daily production schedules and allocate staff effectively.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining high quality standards.
• Monitor product quality and implement measures to minimise waste.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
• Ensure delivery vehicles are loaded accurately and dispatched on schedule.
• Report equipment faults promptly and coordinate maintenance where necessary.
• Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
• Prepare accurate daily and weekly operational reports for the Directors.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Promote excellent customer service throughout the bakery operation.
• Ensure the bakery operates in a safe, compliant, and profitable manner.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

Education

• A professional qualification, Higher National Diploma (HND), bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Management, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a bakery, food production, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience supervising teams or managing day-to-day operations.
• Experience coordinating production schedules and managing operational performance.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to prepare accurate operational reports using Microsoft Excel and WhatsApp.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Flexible, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.

Working Arrangements

• Full-time position.
