Premier Poultry Limited is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Maintenance and Transport Officer with a passion for improving the lives of smallholder farmers. He/ She will oversee the maintenance of the company’s vehicles and coordinate transportation services. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

This position requires high level of professionalism, commitment, effectiveness and self-motivated personnel with consistency and efficiency capabilities. The person must be energetic, independent, innovative, result-oriented, ability to work under pressure and make informed judgement in decision-making.

Summary Position

The Maintenance and Transport Officer will oversee the maintenance of the company’s vehicles and coordinate transportation services. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key KPIs:

Driver safety:

• Ensure Zero Number of accidents and incidents involving drivers
• Percentage of drivers who are compliant with all company safety policies: 100%.

Average Vehicle Downtime Due to Maintenance:

• Maintain average vehicle downtime under 5 days per month.
• Ensure minimal operational disruptions through effective maintenance management

Driver Training and Feedback:

• Monthly target: At least 2 training sessions.
• Percentage of drivers who have completed training: 100%.
• More sessions indicate proactive driver skill improvement. Preventive

Maintenance Compliance:

• Monitor the percentage of scheduled maintenance tasks completed on time.
• Track the average cost of maintenance per vehicle to ensure efficiency.
• Achieve 100% completion of scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Minimize unexpected vehicle issues through consistent preventive measures.

Fuel Expense Variance:

• Track Drivers’ fuel cost control versus budget
• Maintain variance within ±5% range for control.

Transportation

• Measure the percentage of deliveries or transports completed on schedule.
• Vehicle Utilization: Measure the percentage of time vehicles are in use.
• Track customer feedback and satisfaction with transportation services.

Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:
  Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Transport Management, Logistics Or any other relevant technical field
• Professional / Technical Certifications (Advantage)

Certificate in:

• Motor Vehicle Mechanics
• Fleet Management
• Occupational Health & Safety
• Preventive Maintenance Systems
• DVLA Vehicle Inspection / Defensive Driving

Experience

• Minimum of 1–3 years’ practical experience in:
• Fleet and vehicle maintenance
• Transport scheduling & routing
• Supervising drivers and mechanics
• Spare parts management and repairs
• Vendor/workshop coordination
• Record keeping and reporting

Key Technical Competencies

Strong knowledge of:

• Preventive maintenance planning
• Vehicle diagnostics and fault analysis
• Transport operations and logistics coordination
• Fuel monitoring and control systems
• Workshop operations
• Safety and compliance procedures
