Role Overview

County Hospital Ghana seeks a compassionate and skilled Midwife to provide high-quality maternal care throughout pregnancy, labour, and postnatal stages. The successful candidate will support women with professionalism and empathy while ensuring safe delivery practices and excellent clinical outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and monitor pregnant women throughout their care journey
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide comprehensive antenatal care and education
  • Conduct routine screening tests and monitor vital signs
  • Collect patient samples and maintain accurate clinical records
  • Support and care for women during labour and delivery
  • Administer medications, injections, and intravenous infusions as required
  • Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to complications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping in line with clinical standards

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery from a recognized institution
  • Valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Ghana
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post–National Service experience

  • Demonstrate strong clinical and patient care skills
  • Communicate effectively and provide emotional support to patients and families
  • Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in clinical procedures
  • Handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness
  • Show empathy, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Uphold high standards of ethics, confidentiality, and patient care
