We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mobile Maintenance Supervisor – Heavy Mining Underground Equipment (HMUE) to lead our mobile maintenance team and ensure optimal equipment reliability and performance.

Role Overview

The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor – HMUE will lead and coordinate maintenance activities for heavy mobile mining equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The successful candidate will drive maintenance excellence, enforce compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities for heavy mobile mining equipment.

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance jobs in collaboration with operations, other departments, and regulatory authorities.

  • Ensure compliance with Duty of Care Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, and the Mining Inspection Act & Regulations.

  • Monitor equipment performance, critical component life cycles, and change-out hours to optimize availability and reliability.

  • Prepare cost estimates, develop tender specifications for mechanical works, and analyze contractor bids to recommend the best value solutions.

  • Oversee contractor performance and manage vendor and warranty obligations effectively.

  • Develop and implement maintenance processes and procedures that integrate behavioral safety and operational best practices.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse workforce while fostering teamwork and accountability.

  • Prepare accurate reports and communicate maintenance performance metrics to management.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office and mechanical maintenance systems to manage planning, reporting, and performance tracking.

  • Promote high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Certificate of Competency as an Engineering Supervisor from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission (IDMC).

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ hands-on experience in a mining maintenance field, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.

  • Comprehensive understanding of mine and maintenance operations.

  • Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment, including critical components and maintenance cycles.

  • Excellent understanding of contract maintenance, vendor management, and contractor warranties.

  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and persuasive communication skills.

  • Experience managing diverse teams in a multicultural environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and mechanical maintenance software/systems.
