SBP Africa is seeking skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanics to support the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of company vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults in vehicles and equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, servicing, and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical system issues.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts and components.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and repair documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and operational standards.
- Monitor vehicle performance and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Collaborate with drivers, operators, and supervisors to address maintenance concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the workshop and work areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing fleet performance and reliability.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hands-on experience in motor vehicle maintenance, repairs, or related technical fields.
- Experience working with commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or industrial machinery is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant vocational, technical, or professional certifications will be considered an added advantage.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and maintenance procedures.
