Position Summary

SBP Africa is seeking skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanics to support the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of company vehicles and equipment. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults in vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, servicing, and safety checks.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical system issues.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts and components.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and repair documentation.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and operational standards.
• Monitor vehicle performance and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Collaborate with drivers, operators, and supervisors to address maintenance concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the workshop and work areas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing fleet performance and reliability.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hands-on experience in motor vehicle maintenance, repairs, or related technical fields.
• Experience working with commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or industrial machinery is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant vocational, technical, or professional certifications will be considered an added advantage.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and maintenance procedures.
