We invite applications from eligible candidates for the 2026–2027 National Service Graduate Training Programme in Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering.

Programme Overview

The Graduate Training Programme is a structured 12-month National Service programme designed to provide graduates with practical industry experience, technical training, and professional mentorship in underground mining operations.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with industry-leading underground mining equipment while developing the technical, operational, and leadership skills required for long-term career success.

Programme Highlights

• Practical training in fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of Sandvik underground mining equipment, including:
  • DD421, DL421, and DD422i Drill Rigs
  • LH621i Loader
  • TH633i Underground Truck
• The opportunity to be considered for full-time employment upon successful completion of the programme, subject to business needs and individual performance.

Learning Outcomes

During the programme, trainees will complete six structured learning modules covering both technical theory and practical application.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

• Identify key mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of underground mining equipment.
• Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics accurately.
• Perform effective troubleshooting and basic fault diagnosis.
• Apply safe maintenance practices using industry standards.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Develop strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Candidate Profile

Successful applicants should demonstrate:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and accountability.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic mining environment.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong analytical thinking, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous learning.
• A minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of internship or industrial attachment experience.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

• Be Ghanaian final-year students completing their studies in 2026 and eligible for the 2026–2027 National Service Programme.
• Hold or be completing a degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • BSc Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Electrical Engineering
  • BSc Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Applicants from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) are especially encouraged to apply, reflecting UMA’s long-standing academic partnership with the institution.
• Applicants from the Obuasi catchment communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
