Role Purpose
The Payment Officer will process and manage all payment transactions accurately and efficiently to support smooth financial operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with financial controls, maintain accurate records, and support timely processing of payments in line with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Process payments accurately and in a timely manner in line with approved procedures.
- Verify payment documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Reconcile payment records and resolve discrepancies where necessary.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems regularly.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues.
- Prepare payment reports and assist in financial analysis as required.
- Support audit processes by providing relevant financial documentation and explanations.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard financial information at all times.
Educational Qualification
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Part qualification in ACCA, ICA, or CIMA will be an added advantage.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in computerized accounting systems.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
