Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and client-focused Portfolio Manager (Private Wealth) to manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) client relationships. The successful candidate will provide tailored investment advice, develop bespoke portfolio strategies, and deliver exceptional client service while supporting the continued growth of our private wealth business.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals and contribute to the delivery of sophisticated wealth management solutions across diverse asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client relationships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing trusted investment advice and wealth management solutions.
- Build, maintain, and deepen long-term client relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service delivery.
- Understand clients’ financial objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity requirements, and long-term wealth preservation goals.
- Provide strategic guidance on investment opportunities, portfolio performance, and market developments.
Portfolio Construction & Investment Management
- Develop and implement customized investment strategies tailored to individual client needs and objectives.
- Construct and manage diversified portfolios across equities, fixed income, cash instruments, and alternative investments.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend adjustments based on market conditions, client objectives, and risk considerations.
- Ensure investment decisions align with approved mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal investment guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to align portfolio construction with Temple Investments’ house views and investment strategies.
Portfolio Review & Reporting
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews with clients and provide insightful investment recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver professional performance reports and portfolio updates.
- Clearly communicate investment outcomes, portfolio positioning, and market developments to clients.
- Ensure clients remain informed and confident in the management of their investment portfolios.
Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new private wealth mandates.
- Support business development initiatives and client acquisition efforts in collaboration with the Executive Operations team.
- Leverage professional networks and market relationships to expand Temple Investments’ private wealth client base.
- Participate in client meetings, networking events, and business development activities to promote the firm’s wealth management services.
Investment Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all portfolio management activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate client records and investment documentation.
- Adhere to fiduciary responsibilities and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.
- Support risk management processes and ensure portfolios remain aligned with approved mandates and investment objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Investment Management, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualifications
- Must have successfully passed the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI) examination.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification or progress toward CFA designation will be an added advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in private wealth management, portfolio management, investment advisory, or a related financial services role.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-value client relationships and investment portfolios.
- Strong understanding of wealth management principles and portfolio construction techniques.
- Experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients is essential.
