Position Summary
The Head of Investment Banking will provide strategic leadership to the investment banking division, driving origination, execution, and successful closure of complex financial transactions. The role oversees capital raising, M&A advisory, structured finance, and corporate advisory mandates while ensuring strong client relationships and business growth.
The successful candidate will lead high-value transactions, develop strategic partnerships, and strengthen Temple Investments Limited’s position in Ghana’s capital markets ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Lead the investment banking division and define strategic direction aligned with firm objectives.
- Originate and develop new business opportunities across capital markets, M&A, and structured finance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporates, investors, regulators, and financial institutions.
- Drive revenue growth through successful execution of high-value mandates.
Transaction Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of complex transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital raises, and structured finance deals.
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and deal structuring.
- Manage transaction teams to ensure timely and successful deal closure.
- Provide expert negotiation leadership in high-stakes transactions.
Market & Regulatory Engagement
- Maintain deep understanding of Ghana’s capital markets regulatory framework, including SEC Ghana and the Ghana Stock Exchange.
- Ensure all transactions comply with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
- Leverage established relationships across the financial ecosystem to support deal origination and execution.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing investment banking team.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee workload management across multiple simultaneous mandates.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on pipeline, performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present transaction reports, pitch materials, and investment memoranda.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Professional Certification
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CISI, or equivalent is required.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, or financial advisory.
- At least 7 years in a senior transaction leadership or business development role.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring, and closing complex financial transactions in Ghana and/or Sub-Saharan Africa.
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Strong understanding of Ghana’s capital markets and regulatory environment (SEC Ghana, GSE).
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
Leadership Competencies
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making ability.
- Ability to manage multiple high-pressure transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
