Project Overview
Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women across Africa. In Ghana, it has the highest incidence and mortality rate among all cancers. This project aims to strengthen early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and reporting systems through improved public health interventions and capacity building within the national health system.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Technical Officer (RTO) to provide technical leadership and support for the implementation of breast cancer interventions. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen service delivery, improve program quality, and ensure alignment with national health priorities and reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance for the implementation of breast cancer and non-communicable disease (NCD) programs
- Support regional and district health teams to strengthen service delivery and program performance
- Collaborate with government stakeholders and partners to align activities with national health strategies
- Monitor program implementation and ensure compliance with established guidelines and standards
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting in line with Ghana Health Service systems
- Conduct training, mentorship, and capacity-building activities for healthcare providers
- Contribute to program planning, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications and Requirements
- Clinician with a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in Non-Communicable Diseases, Medicine, Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience, with a strong focus on public health program implementation
- Familiarity with Ghana health systems and reporting structures
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to improving health outcomes
