Position Summary

Nestlé Ghana is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of SHE standards and systems within the factory environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting workplace safety, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor SHE operational controls and checklists to ensure safe and compliant factory operations.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to factory employees on SHE procedures and best practices.
  • Support the training, sensitization, and onboarding of new employees and external service providers on SHE requirements.
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving SHE Management Systems, including achieving and sustaining ISO certifications.
  • Support and coach SHE Single Point of Contact (SPOC) representatives to achieve departmental and organizational SHE objectives.
  • Promote awareness and adherence to SHE policies, procedures, and standards across the organization.
  • Ensure SHE performance data is accurately collected, managed, and reported.
  • Lead SHE risk assessment activities, including incident investigations, corrective actions, audits, and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of waste management processes in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational commitments.
  • Support and coordinate environmental impact studies and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and SHE management systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SHE reporting tools is an advantage.
