Job Description

GEOLOG is seeking Sample Catchers with varying levels of experience to support its operations in Ghana. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced drilling environment and play a critical role in collecting and preparing geological samples for analysis.

You will work on a rotational schedule and collaborate closely with the Surface Logger and Senior Surface Logger to ensure accurate and timely sample handling, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve, wash, and prepare drill cuttings samples accurately
• Assist the Surface Logger and Senior Surface Logger with operational tasks as required
• Maintain proper labeling and handling of samples to ensure data integrity
• Follow all company and client quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) procedures
• Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Support smooth drilling operations through timely sample processing

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week
• Flexible rotational schedule

Educational Requirements

• University Degree in Technical, Earth Sciences, or a related field
  OR
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience as a Sample Catcher

Experience & Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of rig safety regulations and operational safety practices
• Analytical and methodical approach to tasks
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Physically fit and able to pass work-related medical and drug screening
