Job Title: School Accountant (Full-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy School Accountant to join our team in Tamale. You will actively manage the school’s financial operations and ensure accurate, transparent, and efficient financial reporting to support the school’s mission.


Role Overview

As the School Accountant, you will actively oversee day-to-day financial activities, maintain accurate accounting records, and support effective financial management within the school. You will ensure compliance with internal policies while contributing to the smooth financial running of the institution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including income and expenditures
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage fee collection processes and monitor outstanding payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation of all transactions
  • Support budgeting and financial planning activities for the school
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and internal financial policies
  • Liaise with management on financial performance and reporting updates
  • Safeguard financial data and ensure confidentiality at all times

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in basic accounting tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and handle financial responsibilities with integrity
