Position Summary
The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at GNAT facilities by protecting personnel, visitors, property, and organizational assets. The successful candidate will monitor premises, enforce security procedures, and respond appropriately to security-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Monitor and patrol assigned premises to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches.
- Control access to facilities by verifying visitors, staff, and contractors.
- Conduct regular security inspections and surveillance of buildings, equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Maintain security presence and ensure compliance with organizational safety and security procedures.
- Protect organizational property and assets against theft, damage, or misuse.
Incident Response & Reporting
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and suspicious activities.
- Investigate and report security breaches, accidents, or unusual occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and visitor movements.
- Prepare and submit security reports as required.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce security regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support emergency response and evacuation activities when necessary.
- Collaborate with management and relevant authorities to maintain a secure working environment.
- Promote safety awareness among staff and visitors.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Minimum of Senior High School Certificate (WASSCE/SSSCE) or equivalent qualification.
