Role Overview
First National Bank is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Transactional Banker to drive product innovation, client solutions, and commercial growth within the transactional banking space. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing tailored financial solutions, managing client engagements, and enhancing the bank’s competitive position in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Strategy
- Lead product development initiatives from business case creation through to execution.
- Identify product gaps and enhance existing offerings to ensure market relevance and competitiveness.
- Influence product priorities through strong, data-driven business cases.
- Stay informed on product commercialization roadmaps and innovation initiatives across the bank.
Market & Client Engagement
- Analyze market sectors, trends, and competitor offerings (both traditional and non-traditional).
- Conduct in-depth client needs analysis to understand business models, banking requirements, and strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Relationship Managers, Global Markets teams, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities.
- Develop and present high-quality proposals and responses to RFPs.
Solution Design & Deal Management
- Design integrated transactional banking solutions, including trade finance, working capital, and global markets offerings.
- Develop end-to-end value propositions incorporating products, pricing, and service delivery models.
- Manage and track the transactional banking deal pipeline and ensure conversion of opportunities.
- Provide strategic input on pricing and commercial structures.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Lead the on-boarding of clients in collaboration with internal teams.
- Manage solution design and client engagement using structured project management approaches.
- Act as a liaison between product owners, operations, legal, compliance, and pricing teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to track progress, manage expectations, and ensure alignment.
- Proactively address challenges, manage conflicts, and drive resolution to maintain project momentum.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and manage product targets, budgets, and profitability metrics.
- Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and accountability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging developments in banking.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and attention to detail in all activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and open communication.
Candidate Profile
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience in transactional banking, product development, or corporate banking.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and client engagements.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and self-management.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
