Position Overview
Jumia Ghana is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Sorting Centre Manager to lead operations at our sorting facilities. The role will focus on defining and executing strategies that optimize line-haul operations, maximize delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the implementation of best practices across the network.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the sorting centre team to achieve operational excellence.
Define and implement line-haul strategies to optimize delivery performance and reduce operational costs.
Manage forecasting, capacity planning, S&OP, and carrier negotiations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Drive operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other best practices.
Oversee network performance, analyze KPIs, and implement solutions to improve throughput and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies.
Educational & Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution.
Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office (Expert-level Excel required) and Google Workspace.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and Lean manufacturing techniques is highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, or production environment, with a strong focus on logistics and supply chain optimization.
Expertise in transportation logistics network management, retail operations, and customer service priorities.
Hands-on experience in forecasting, capacity planning, S&OP, carrier negotiations, and delivery performance optimization.
Proven ability to manage complex networks and drive large-scale operational strategies.
