Position Summary
The Warehouse Specialist will support the effective management of inventory, storage, receiving, dispatch, and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will ensure the accurate handling of goods, maintain inventory accuracy, support operational efficiency, and contribute to the smooth flow of products throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Monitor warehouse processes to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure products are stored appropriately and organized according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records.
- Conduct routine stock counts and periodic inventory audits.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory transactions.
- Support inventory planning and replenishment activities.
Receiving & Dispatch
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of goods while ensuring proper handling procedures.
- Prepare products for dispatch and ensure orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Verify outgoing shipments and maintain accurate dispatch records.
- Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to support timely deliveries.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate warehouse records, inventory reports, and operational documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and warehouse performance reports.
- Ensure all warehouse transactions are properly documented and filed.
- Support management with operational data and inventory analysis.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company policies, warehouse procedures, and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control standards and operational guidelines.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and operational risks.
- Promote safe handling, storage, and movement of goods within the warehouse.
- Participate in workplace safety and continuous improvement programs.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Support colleagues in achieving departmental objectives and operational targets.
- Communicate effectively regarding inventory status, operational issues, and process improvements.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory control systems, and stock management principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory management software will be an advantage.
