Job Summary

The University of Cape Coast invites applications from distinguished and accomplished academics for the position of Provost, College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS). The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, oversee academic and administrative functions, and drive the growth and international visibility of the College.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the College
• Oversee academic, administrative, and financial operations of CoHAS
• Promote excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement
• Foster strong internal and external partnerships and collaborations
• Enhance the College’s reputation locally and internationally
• Lead initiatives to secure funding and support for College activities
• Ensure effective management of human, financial, and material resources
• Support the development and implementation of policies aligned with the University’s mission

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be an internationally acclaimed scholar of professorial status
• Must possess a terminal degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of over 10 years’ experience in a reputable university or related academic institution
• Demonstrated capacity to manage a college and promote strong internal and external relations
• Proven ability to provide visionary leadership, drive innovation, and enhance academic output
• Strong track record in research, graduate training, and extension services
• Proven ability to mobilize resources and raise funds for institutional development
• Must be a person of high integrity with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

Term of Office

The appointment is for a three (3) year term and may be renewed for one additional term of three (3) years, subject to statutory retirement age.
