Position Summary

The System Analyst will support the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the College’s information systems. The successful candidate will analyse business and user requirements, recommend technology solutions, improve system performance, and ensure the effective delivery of reliable and secure information technology services that support academic and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Analysis & Development

  • Analyse business processes and user requirements to identify appropriate technology solutions.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain information systems that support institutional objectives.
  • Prepare system specifications, technical documentation, and user guides.
  • Recommend system enhancements to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Systems Administration & Support

  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Support software installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to system users where required.

Data Management & Security

  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of institutional data.
  • Support data management, backup, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Monitor system access and ensure compliance with information security policies.

Project Management

  • Participate in ICT projects from planning through implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance institutional operations.
  • Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve service efficiency.
  • Promote best practices in systems management and information technology.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must:

  • Possess an M.Sc. or M.Phil. Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant post-qualification professional experience.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and practical experience in systems analysis, information systems development, and ICT operations.
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
