Role Overview

Van Vliet Automotive Ghana is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will manage financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, support budget and audit processes, and maintain compliance with statutory regulations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute strategically to the company’s financial management while leading the accounts team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
  • Execute weekly, quarterly, and yearly accounting operations, including tax reporting.
  • Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts and vendor accounts, including GRIR accounts.
  • Review and manage employee, vendor, and travel expenses.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, SGA, CAPEX, and cash flow projections.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and support the year-end statutory audit process.
  • Oversee monthly statutory payments, including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other taxes.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer accounts and reconcile outstanding sales balances.
  • Supervise and mentor the Accounts Officer.
  • Address and resolve customer queries and issues in line with company policies.
  • Assist in collection of overdue accounts and monitor account receivables for discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute invoices, follow up on payments, and allocate receipts.
  • Review AR aging reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Compile monthly AR metrics and support payroll management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Full or partial qualification in ICA or ACCA.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software; ERP system experience is an advantage.
