Job Title: Commercial Finance Manager (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounts & Board Reporting

  • Produce accurate, insightful, and decision-ready management accounts for Affinity Ghana Savings & Loans and Affinity Labs.
  • Compile financial sections of board packs to provide senior leadership with full visibility of financial performance.

Regulatory & Statutory Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all Bank of Ghana prudential returns, statutory financial disclosures, and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain zero material errors and ensure compliance with all regulatory deadlines.

Tax & Compliance

  • Manage corporate tax compliance, including CIT, VAT, WHT, and other statutory obligations for both entities.
  • Ensure submissions meet Ghana Revenue Authority requirements and applicable legislation.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for both Affinity Ghana Savings & Loans and Affinity Labs.
  • Build and maintain financial models, budgets, and analytical frameworks to provide forward-looking insights for strategic decision-making.

Commercial Partnering

  • Act as the primary finance partner for business unit leaders.
  • Provide financial insight, challenge, and support to enable sound operational and commercial decisions.

Business Case Appraisal

  • Evaluate business cases for new products, technology initiatives, partnerships, and strategic programs.
  • Present findings to senior leadership in a clear, objective, and decision-ready format.

Systems, Technology & AI-Driven Efficiency

  • Champion the use of systems solutions, automation, and AI to enhance finance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data integrity, and quality of financial outputs.

Success Metrics

  • Timely delivery of monthly management accounts for both entities.
  • Accurate and insightful board pack financial sections with clear commentary on performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • All BoG regulatory returns filed accurately and on schedule.
  • Statutory financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS and approved for audit and regulatory review.
  • Tax filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) submitted accurately and on time.
  • Annual budgets prepared collaboratively with department heads within the agreed timetable.
  • Business unit heads receive actionable financial insights monthly.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certification

  • First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification required or actively pursued (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.

Experience

  • 5–8 years in financial management, FP&A, management accounting, or business partnering in financial services, fintech, or regulated environments.
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts, board packs, and financial analyses for senior leadership.
  • Track record of producing BoG regulatory returns and statutory financial statements.
  • Experience managing corporate tax compliance in Ghana, including exposure to GRA audits.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel or Google Sheets financial modelling.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or group finance structures is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance senior stakeholders.
