Job Summary

The General Manager, Home Technology, will provide senior technical and strategic leadership in shaping MTN Ghana’s Fixed Broadband (FBB) and FTTH technology vision. This role drives broadband network evolution, customer experience enhancement, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with MTN Group standards and market demands. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex technology programs, and deliver business value through innovation, efficiency, and superior service quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of MTN Ghana’s Home Technology strategy, covering FTTH rollout, FWA strategy, network capacity, service platforms, and technical product development.
  • Provide senior technical leadership in broadband technology vision, policies, and architectural standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of major broadband network transformation, capacity programs, and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and operational compliance.
  • Drive cross-functional integration between Broadband Solutions, Operations, Commercial Planning, Digital, and Customer Operations for seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure the implementation of scalable, resilient, and future-proof broadband technologies including fibre core, access networks, home devices, and service enablement platforms.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize network performance, QoS, latency, stability, and customer experience.
  • Direct development of Home Technology platforms supporting digital self-care, automation, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by improving on-boarding, activation processes, device lifecycle management, and fault resolution.
  • Ensure robust risk and issue management frameworks across Home Technology operations.
  • Align technology initiatives with shareholder return goals, including market share growth, revenue, EBITDA margins, CAPEX efficiency, and churn reduction.
  • Oversee financial and resource planning for broadband expansion, technology evolution, and operational capability.
  • Provide business intelligence, reporting, and strategic insights to senior leadership on network investments, technology roadmaps, and commercial opportunities.
  • Lead negotiation of high-value contracts for network infrastructure, platforms, and broadband enablement solutions.
  • Represent MTN Ghana in industry forums, influencing policy and maintaining leadership in digital home connectivity.
  • Drive digitalization and operational excellence programs, ensuring adoption of self-service features, automation, and standardized technology processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including vendors, regulators, contractors, and ecosystem partners—to ensure timely and efficient delivery of Home Technology objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • First degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in a business-related discipline (e.g., MSc, MBA) is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Lean, Scrum, Agile) are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunications management, broadband technologies, and customer experience.
  • At least 5 years in senior management roles within the technology or telecommunications industry.
  • Proven experience in Broadband/FTTH rollout, IT/Digital transformation, network evolution, or technology transformation.
