We are seeking an experienced Auto Air Conditioning Technician to join our team at the Chirano Site and contribute to maintaining the reliability of our fleet and equipment.

Role Summary

The Auto Air Conditioning Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle air conditioning systems across site operations. The role requires technical expertise, attention to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in vehicle A/C systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Repair and service A/C components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, vacuuming, recharging, and leak detection.
• Install new A/C systems or retrofit existing systems as required.
• Inspect and test A/C systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Identify and repair electrical faults related to A/C systems, including wiring, relays, and sensors.
• Replace defective components and ensure full system functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize system failures and downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, refrigerant usage, and servicing activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in refrigerant handling.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and operational standards on site.
• Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned.

Education, Experience & Key Competencies

• Relevant Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Air Conditioning, Auto Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in a mining maintenance environment.
• Proven experience as an Auto Air Conditioning Technician.
• Strong knowledge of refrigerants, recovery systems, and HVAC principles.
• Proficiency in using A/C service tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems related to HVAC.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental standards within industrial or mining settings.
• Valid Journey-level HVAC technician license.
• Holder of a valid driver’s license.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a demanding environment.
