Role Overview

We are seeking a disciplined and safety-focused Blastman to join our team in Obuasi on a full-time basis. You will support underground blasting operations by safely handling explosives, preparing blast sites, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.

You will play a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient mining operations while adhering to strict regulatory and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and charge blast holes in accordance with approved blasting designs
• Handle, transport, and store explosives and detonators safely
• Execute blasting activities in compliance with safety regulations and procedures
• Inspect blast sites before and after detonation to ensure safety and effectiveness
• Maintain accurate records of explosives usage and blasting activities
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations
• Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental standards

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a minimum of a High School Certificate
• Possess certification in Mining, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred)
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in underground charge-up and blasting operations
• Show basic knowledge of explosives and detonator systems
• Be willing and able to work underground on a roster basis
• Exhibit strong attention to safety, discipline, and teamwork
