A reputable MEP engineering solutions provider in Accra is seeking a Ghana-based Electrical Engineer with strong experience in transformer and medium-voltage (MV) systems to support power infrastructure and substation-related projects. The role involves ensuring reliable system performance, supporting installation and maintenance activities, and contributing to safe and efficient project execution


Role Overview

The company seeks a Ghana-based Electrical Engineer (Transformers & MV Systems) to support the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of medium-voltage systems and transformer infrastructure. You will ensure reliable system performance while contributing to safe and efficient execution of power and substation projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain MV and LV electrical systems.
  • Install, test, and commission transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
  • Perform electrical configuration, diagnostics, and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct cable sizing, load assessments, and protection coordination studies.
  • Interpret single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and protection diagrams.
  • Supervise substation and transformer installation activities on site.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports and document maintenance and installation activities.
  • Support project teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of power infrastructure works.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical engineering industry.
  • Proven experience working with transformers, substations, or MV systems.
  • Strong understanding of protection systems, switchgear, and power distribution.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
