Role Purpose

The Biology Teacher delivers high-quality instruction in Biology aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum. The role promotes scientific curiosity, academic excellence, and practical laboratory competence while preparing students for international examinations and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, well-structured Biology lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum standards.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, scientific inquiry, and collaboration.
• Develop students’ theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills in Biology.
• Prepare learners effectively for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level examinations through targeted instruction, practice, and assessment.
• Integrate experiments, field studies, and real-world applications to enhance conceptual understanding.
• Encourage independent research and guide students in maintaining academic portfolios that reflect progress and achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities within the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
• Mentor students and support participation in science competitions, fairs, and enrichment programmes.
• Manage laboratory resources responsibly and ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Biology.
• Proven track record of strong student academic performance in external examinations.
• Cambridge curriculum coaching certification is an added advantage.
• Experience using educational technology and online learning platforms is desirable.
