Role Summary
The Associate Programme Officer will support the coordination, implementation, and scaling of a university-led development programme in collaboration with partner institutions and the RUFORUM Secretariat. The successful candidate will contribute to programme administration, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilisation, reporting, and institutional strengthening initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural education, entrepreneurship, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination & Implementation
- Support the Programme Coordinator in the administration and technical delivery of programme activities
- Participate in monthly programme meetings and contribute to planning and implementation discussions
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and capacity building of programme staff and scholars
- Support the coordination of programme activities across partner universities
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain partnerships with private sector organisations, TVET institutions, and other stakeholders
- Strengthen university-community engagement initiatives, including student training and entrepreneurship development
- Promote collaboration that enhances programme reach and impact
Resource Mobilization & Sustainability
- Support fundraising efforts to scale and sustain programme operations
- Contribute to mobilizing resources from international and development partners
- Assist in developing proposals and funding applications for programme expansion
Reporting, Research & Documentation
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual programme reports
- Conduct beneficiary and student impact studies
- Document and publish programme learning outcomes and best practices
- Support evidence-based programme evaluation and institutional learning
Institutional Development
- Contribute to institutional transformation and capacity-building initiatives
- Support scaling strategies for programme sustainability and expansion
- Engage in knowledge sharing and dissemination activities
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or a related discipline
- PhD will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience coordinating development programmes
- Proven experience in resource mobilisation with evidence of funding secured from international partners
- Evidence of publication in SCOPUS-indexed journals
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel at short notice
