We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Vaccine Manufacturing and Marketing Directorate and support the growth of domestic vaccine production and commercialization initiatives.

Position Summary

The Director, Vaccine Manufacturing and Marketing will provide strategic leadership in vaccine manufacturing, commercialization, regulatory compliance, and market development initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee programmes and partnerships that strengthen domestic vaccine manufacturing capacity, promote technology transfer, and enhance market access for locally produced vaccines and sera.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide technical leadership in the formulation, review, and implementation of policies relating to vaccine manufacturing and marketing.
• Lead the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and activities within the Directorate.
• Ensure the efficient and effective management of the Directorate’s human, financial, and material resources.
• Collaborate with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with national and international standards governing domestic vaccine manufacturing.
• Work closely with researchers and manufacturers to support the domestic development of vaccines and sera.
• Lead the development, implementation, and review of market strategies for promoting domestically produced vaccines.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and review of technology transfer processes for domestic vaccine manufacturers.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with government institutions, development partners, public and private sector organizations, and international stakeholders.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual work plans, budgets, and periodic reports for the Directorate.
• Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the Directorate’s performance management systems.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Bio-manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Membership in a recognised and relevant professional health body.
• At least ten (10) years of relevant post-Bachelor’s work experience, including a minimum of five (5) years at a senior management level within a reputable institution.
• Demonstrated experience in vaccine manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical operations, public health systems, or related scientific leadership roles.
