We are looking for an experienced and strategic Portfolio Manager to join our growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, investment, and impact across African private markets.
Role Overview
As Portfolio Manager, you will oversee investment portfolios, support investment execution, monitor portfolio performance, and contribute to value creation initiatives across portfolio companies and funds.
You will work closely with investors, fund managers, and business leaders to drive strong financial and developmental outcomes while maintaining high standards of analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor investment portfolios across multiple sectors and asset classes.
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation assessments, and portfolio performance reviews.
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support investment decisions.
- Support transaction execution, due diligence, and investment structuring activities.
- Engage with portfolio companies to monitor operational and financial performance.
- Prepare investment reports, portfolio updates, and presentations for stakeholders and investors.
- Collaborate with institutional investors, fund managers, and strategic partners.
- Identify portfolio risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to investment strategy development and market research initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal investment policies and reporting standards.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Finance
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Accounting
- Or a related field
- Master’s degree and/or CFA qualification is an added advantage.
Experience & Skills
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in:
- Private Equity
- Venture Capital
- Investment Banking
- Asset Management
- Development Finance
- Portfolio Management
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Experience working with institutional investors, fund structures, or portfolio companies.
- Familiarity with African private markets and impact investing is preferred.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
