Position Summary
UNFPA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Analyst to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes that advance sexual and reproductive health, adolescent wellbeing, and sustainable development outcomes.
The successful candidate will contribute to programme design, stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue, partnership management, and evidence-based decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of development programming, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with government institutions, development partners, and civil society organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning & Implementation
- Support the design, implementation, and management of programme activities aligned with UNFPA’s strategic priorities.
- Contribute to the development of annual work plans, programme frameworks, and implementation strategies.
- Ensure effective execution of programme activities within established timelines and budgets.
- Monitor programme performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Support programme monitoring and evaluation activities to measure results and impact.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret programme data to inform decision-making.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, briefing notes, and donor reports.
- Ensure accurate documentation of programme achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships that advance programme objectives.
- Participate in policy discussions, technical working groups, and coordination meetings.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among programme partners.
Technical Support & Advocacy
- Provide technical support on issues related to sexual and reproductive health, adolescent development, and social development.
- Contribute to policy analysis, research, and advocacy initiatives.
- Support knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities for stakeholders and partners.
- Promote evidence-based approaches to programme design and implementation.
Resource Management & Accountability
- Support effective programme management and utilization of resources.
- Ensure compliance with UNFPA policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to risk management and quality assurance processes.
- Promote accountability, transparency, and results-based management practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Development, Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in programme or project management within the public sector, private sector, international development organizations, or non-governmental organizations.
- Experience working with government institutions, NGOs, development agencies, or donor-funded programmes.
- Familiarity with issues relating to adolescent sexual and reproductive health is highly desirable.
- Experience in programme monitoring, evaluation, policy analysis, or stakeholder engagement will be an advantage.
Languages
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of a second UN language is an asset.
