About BRAC International

Founded in 1972, BRAC is the world’s largest Southern-led development organization, globally recognized for pioneering and scaling systemic solutions to poverty and inequality. Operating across multiple countries in Asia and Africa, BRAC International brings together social development, social enterprises, and inclusive financial services to spark lasting, positive change.

We base our approach on the firm conviction that people living in marginalized situations are not passive recipients of aid, but powerful agents of change when given the right tools, skills, and opportunities. In Ghana, we continue to expand our impact, fostering economic resilience, empowering women and youth, and building a culture of trust, innovation, and inclusiveness.

Position Overview

We are looking for a vibrant, people-centric Human Resource Associate to join our growing team in Accra. In this role, you will serve as a foundational pillar for our talent operations, cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and high-performing workspace. You will directly manage day-to-day HR functions, support our dedicated staff, and ensure our operational practices strictly align with local labor standards.

If you are a proactive HR professional who thrives on meaningful work and wants to channel your expertise into driving social impact, we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

As our Human Resource Associate, you will actively drive and support the employee lifecycle:

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Coordinate recruitment processes, manage job postings, screen incoming applications, and facilitate a warm, comprehensive onboarding experience for all new team members.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Serve as an accessible point of contact for staff inquiries, foster open communication, and implement initiatives that champion employee well-being and a positive workplace culture.
  • Compliance & Legal Alignment: Monitor and manage HR practices to ensure complete compliance with the Ghana Labour Act and relevant statutory regulations.
  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, manage HR databases, and assist in preparing monthly HR reports and metrics.
  • Performance Management: Support line managers in implementing the annual performance review cycle and coordinate staff training and development schedules.

Requirements & Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Preferred: A professional HR certification (e.g., CIHRM, SHRM, PHRi, or equivalent) is highly desirable and considered a distinct advantage.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience working in dedicated HR roles, preferably within the non-profit, international development, or corporate sectors.
  • In-depth, practical knowledge of Ghana labor laws and statutory compliance frameworks.

Key Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build trust and rapport across diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational habits, excellent problem-solving capacity, and absolute discretion when handling sensitive data.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and standard office applications (Microsoft Office Suite / Google Workspace).
