Position Summary
IUCN is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Intern to support project implementation and administrative activities in its Accra office. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in environmental governance, sustainable development, international cooperation, and environmental policy to gain practical experience within a dynamic international organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contribute to research and reporting activities, and support the effective delivery of conservation and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and coordination of project activities.
- Conduct research and gather information related to environmental governance, sustainable development, and international cooperation.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, meeting materials, and project documentation.
- Provide administrative and organizational support for project activities and events.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with data management and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project objectives.
- Contribute ideas and insights to strengthen project outcomes and organizational learning.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support programme delivery.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Be currently studying toward a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Economics, Environmental Policy, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or a related field relevant to environmental governance and sustainable development.
- Maintain active student status and remain enrolled at a recognized university throughout the entire internship period.
- Demonstrate academic or practical interest in environmental diplomacy, multilateral governance, sustainable development, or international cooperation, preferably within a West African or regional context.
- Possess excellent written and spoken English proficiency (native or equivalent).
- Demonstrate strong organizational, administrative, and reporting skills.
- Exhibit strong writing and communication abilities.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Show enthusiasm for learning, professional growth, and contributing innovative ideas.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in working within an international and multicultural environment.
