Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, inventory management, and dispatch of goods. The successful candidate will supervise warehouse personnel, maintain inventory accuracy, promote workplace safety, and drive operational excellence to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure efficient workflow and effective utilization of warehouse resources.
- Monitor warehouse performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure products are stored and handled according to company standards and operational procedures.
Inventory Control & Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock records are maintained.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory transactions.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to support inventory planning and replenishment activities.
Receiving & Dispatch Coordination
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming goods.
- Ensure proper documentation and accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
- Monitor order preparation and dispatch activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Verify shipment accuracy and ensure compliance with operational requirements.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, motivate, and support warehouse staff to achieve operational targets.
- Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to warehouse personnel.
- Foster teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work culture.
- Support employee development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, warehouse procedures, and safety regulations.
- Promote safe handling, storage, and movement of inventory and equipment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and address potential hazards proactively.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support workplace safety training and awareness initiatives.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate warehouse records, inventory reports, and operational documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse performance, and operational activities.
- Monitor key warehouse performance indicators and recommend improvements.
- Support management with operational analysis and reporting requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management and inventory control.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, production, and sales teams to support business goals.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance service delivery and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain supervision.
- Experience supervising warehouse teams within a manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management processes and inventory control principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software is an advantage.
