Key Responsibilities
As an IT Technician, you will:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support to employees across the organization.
- Respond to IT service requests and support tickets in a timely manner.
- Install, update, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and security software.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems, servers, and network equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Perform routine system checks, preventive maintenance, and data backup procedures.
- Support the implementation of IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and improve IT services.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, system configurations, and support activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role will be an advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certifications, or equivalent qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
