Role Purpose
The IGCSE/A Level Mathematics Teacher will deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that prepare learners for success in the Cambridge International curriculum. The successful candidate will foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons in line with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum.
- Create engaging learning experiences that develop students’ mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and Cambridge International examinations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessment data, and academic reports.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Integrate appropriate educational technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning, academic improvement initiatives, and school-wide activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic development.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, school events, and co-curricular activities.
- Uphold the Christian values, mission, and ethos of GIU International Christian Academy in all professional interactions.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience in Mathematics.
- Experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level Mathematics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the Cambridge International Curriculum will be an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Mathematics and effective instructional methodologies.
- Sound understanding of the Cambridge International curriculum and assessment framework.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to inspire students to achieve high academic standards.
- Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and educational technology tools.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
- A strong appreciation for Christian values and the ability to contribute positively to the mission and culture of the Academy.
