Transport Manager

Location: Adukrom, Okere District, Ghana
Employment Type: Full-Time

As part of our commitment to seamless mobility and guest satisfaction, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to lead and manage our transport and fleet operations.

Role Purpose

The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing all transport operations within the resort, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet management. The successful candidate will manage drivers and transport staff, maintain vehicle performance and compliance standards, and implement systems that support reliable and sustainable transport services for guests and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

  • Manage daily fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling, routing, and dispatch.
  • Track and monitor vehicle movements, mileage, and daily usage records.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of all resort vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and available for operational needs at all times.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Develop and implement systems to ensure full compliance with all regulations governing company vehicle use.
  • Monitor validity of driver licences, vehicle permits, registrations, and insurance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate transport records in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to transport policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Track fuel consumption, mileage, and all transport-related operational costs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and supporting records for all vehicle-related expenses.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet performance and transport operations.
  • Analyse transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.

Maintenance & Vehicle Management

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all resort vehicles.
  • Ensure timely servicing and repair of vehicles to maintain optimal performance.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and ensure all assets are kept in excellent operational state.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of electric vehicles and electric carts where applicable.

Leadership & Staff Supervision

  • Supervise transport staff in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure drivers perform their duties safely, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Establish clear communication channels with drivers and transport personnel.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Transport Department.
  • Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and excellent service delivery.

Systems Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement transport management systems aligned with the resort’s vision, mission, and service standards.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through process improvement and technology integration.
  • Support initiatives that improve guest experience and internal operational coordination.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Proven experience in transport, fleet, or logistics management roles.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of electric vehicles and electric carts is an advantage.
  • Valid Ghanaian Driver’s Licence is required.
  • Experience with transport management systems or fleet tracking software is an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, supervision, and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination abilities.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
  • Good analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transport tracking systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment with operational flexibility.
