Deputy Registrar – General Administration (Full-Time)
Location: Navrongo, Ghana

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic administrative support to the Registrar and University Management in the effective coordination of the University’s daily administrative operations.
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise the activities of assigned administrative units, faculties, schools, directorates, and departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Support the organization and administration of University Council meetings, Management Committee meetings, and other institutional meetings, including preparation of agendas, briefing documents, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, review, and monitoring of University policies, statutes, regulations, and strategic plans.
- Oversee the management of official correspondence, institutional records, and administrative documentation in line with approved records management procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic departments, administrative directorates, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate administrative arrangements and logistics for University ceremonies, official functions, institutional events, and strategic engagements.
- Guide the preparation of institutional reports, returns, submissions, and policy documents required by regulatory and statutory bodies.
- Monitor compliance with public service regulations, University statutes, policies, and applicable laws.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and administrative guidance to staff within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Promote continuous improvement of administrative systems, processes, and service delivery standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of General Administration, Registrar, Vice-Chancellor, or University Council.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have been appointed as Deputy Registrar or Director in an accredited university or comparable institution and served for at least two (2) years in that rank; or
- Hold an M.Phil. or a two-year research Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline; or
- Possess a good First Degree and a relevant professional certificate from a recognized professional body.
Applicants must also:
- Have served satisfactorily as a Senior Assistant Registrar and fulfilled the required four (4) years minimum waiting period for promotion to Deputy Registrar, with the requisite documentation for promotion.
- Have previously held an appointment at the same or similar grade in an analogous institution.
- Possess at least eleven (11) years of accumulated postgraduate work experience.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in university administration, institutional governance, policy implementation, and strategic management.
- Possess strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage complex administrative responsibilities effectively.
- Be proficient in information technology and modern administrative management systems.
