Role Summary
The Chaplain will lead and coordinate the spiritual life of the school by providing pastoral care, organizing worship services, supporting faith formation, and fostering a caring and inclusive Christian community. The successful candidate will inspire students to grow in their faith while working collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, parents, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
As the Chaplain, you will:
- Provide spiritual leadership that reflects and supports the school’s Christian mission and values.
- Plan and lead chapel services, devotionals, prayer meetings, and other faith-based programmes.
- Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and counselling support to students, staff, and families.
- Encourage students’ spiritual growth through biblical teaching, mentorship, and discipleship opportunities.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate Christian values into school life and learning where appropriate.
- Support students during times of personal, emotional, or spiritual need while referring complex matters to appropriate professionals when necessary.
- Coordinate Christian events, outreach activities, missions, and community service initiatives.
- Foster an inclusive and caring school culture built on respect, compassion, and integrity.
- Build strong relationships with parents, churches, and the wider Christian community to strengthen partnerships.
- Participate actively in school events, leadership meetings, professional development activities, and school improvement initiatives.
- Model exemplary Christian character, professionalism, and ethical leadership in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Christian Ministry, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence is an advantage, particularly where classroom teaching responsibilities may form part of the role.
- Ordination, ministerial credentials, or recognised theological training will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Experience in Christian ministry, chaplaincy, pastoral care, or faith-based education.
- Experience working with children and young people in a school, church, or ministry setting.
- Experience within an American, International, or International Baccalaureate (IB) school environment is an advantage.
