Position Summary
The High School Principal will provide strategic and instructional leadership to ensure outstanding academic achievement, effective school operations, and the holistic development of students. The successful candidate will inspire staff, engage families, and cultivate a positive learning environment that supports both student success and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Strategic Leadership
- Lead the overall management and administration of the High School in alignment with the school’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote academic excellence, student achievement, and continuous school improvement.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and high performance.
Lead Teaching and Learning
- Provide instructional leadership that strengthens the quality of teaching and learning across the High School.
- Monitor academic performance and implement strategies that improve student outcomes.
- Support curriculum implementation and promote effective teaching practices that meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Encourage innovation and the effective use of teaching resources and educational technologies.
Develop and Support Staff
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate teaching and administrative staff to promote professional growth and high performance.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that values teamwork, continuous learning, and excellence.
- Identify and support professional development opportunities for staff.
Promote Student Well-being
- Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Promote positive student behaviour and uphold high standards of discipline and safeguarding.
- Ensure that student welfare remains central to all school decisions.
Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents, guardians, staff, and the wider school community.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding school initiatives, student achievement, and institutional development.
- Represent the school professionally with education authorities and community partners.
Ensure Effective School Operations
- Oversee the efficient management of school resources and daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant educational policies, regulations, and school procedures.
- Support strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of proven experience in school leadership and management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead academic improvement and organisational development.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- A commitment to student-centred leadership, educational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership.
