Position Summary

As a Locum Sonographer, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, produce accurate imaging results, and deliver excellent patient care. You will work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnosis and treatment while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and high-quality ultrasound images for clinical interpretation.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the examination process and ensuring their comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records and examination reports.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely and report any equipment issues promptly.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures and comply with all health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional ethics at all times.
  • Deliver a positive patient experience through compassionate and professional care.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • A valid registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient-centred care.
