Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company maintenance procedures.

Automation & Instrumentation

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-controlled production systems.
  • Program and modify PLC logic using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and related programming languages where required.
  • Monitor and maintain SCADA systems to ensure reliable process control.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial sensors, actuators, transmitters, and instrumentation devices.
  • Troubleshoot communication networks between automation systems and production equipment.
  • Support automation upgrades, system enhancements, and process optimisation initiatives.

Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new production lines and industrial equipment.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Support root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns and implement preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Carry out all maintenance activities in compliance with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safe work practices during maintenance activities.
  • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Process, or Electrical & Automation Engineering.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial automation, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of industrial equipment or production lines.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and manufacturing processes.

Technical Competencies

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical and automation systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, including Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
  • Experience working with SCADA systems and industrial automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, including the calibration and maintenance of sensors, actuators, transmitters, and other process control devices.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
