We are looking for an energetic, results-oriented, and relationship-driven Medical Detailer to join our Social Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales and healthcare professional who is passionate about improving access to quality sexual and reproductive health products while building strong partnerships with healthcare providers and retail networks.

Position Summary

As the Medical Detailer, you will promote MSI Reproductive Choices Ghana’s social marketing products to healthcare providers, pharmacies, distributors, and retail outlets. You will strengthen product awareness, increase product availability, support sales growth, and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring ethical and responsible product promotion.

Key Responsibilities

Provider Detailing and Product Promotion

You will:

  • Promote Medical Abortion (MA) products and other sexual and reproductive health (SRH) social marketing products to public and private healthcare providers.
  • Detail healthcare professionals, pharmacies, retail outlet personnel, wholesalers, and distributors on product features, benefits, dosage, indications, usage, and application.
  • Deliver accurate product information and respond confidently to technical and product-related enquiries.
  • Distribute educational and promotional materials to healthcare providers and retail partners.
  • Collect product orders and coordinate timely fulfilment through distributors and wholesalers.
  • Ensure providers and retailers maintain accurate knowledge of product use and application.
  • Maintain productive relationships with healthcare providers and other key stakeholders to increase product awareness and confidence.

Sales Growth, Distribution and Product Availability

You will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, pharmacies, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and community-based distributors.
  • Monitor product visibility, merchandising, placement, and availability across assigned territories.
  • Ensure social marketing products remain adequately stocked within retail outlets and healthcare facilities.
  • Support the achievement of monthly and annual sales and distribution targets.
  • Monitor sales performance, revenue generation, and distributor activities within assigned territories.
  • Identify market opportunities and recommend strategies to improve product penetration and customer engagement.
  • Provide timely feedback on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

You will:

  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly detailing reports and other required field activity reports.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and detailing schedules.
  • Monitor provider engagement and product awareness levels.
  • Track sales performance and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient product distribution and customer support.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

You will:

  • Work closely with the Social Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Medical Services teams to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Represent MSI Reproductive Choices Ghana professionally during stakeholder engagements, meetings, and field activities.
  • Support the implementation of marketing campaigns, sales activation initiatives, and product visibility programmes.
  • Escalate stock availability, distribution, and market-related issues appropriately.

Safeguarding and Ethics

You will:

  • Comply with all MSI Reproductive Choices Ghana safeguarding, communication, and ethical marketing policies.
  • Promote responsible and ethical sexual and reproductive health product marketing.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all stakeholder interactions.
  • Uphold the organisation’s commitment to client-centred care, reproductive rights, and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A first degree in Marketing, Sales Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Additional training in pharmaceutical sales, medical detailing, or healthcare marketing will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ post-national service experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • Experience in customer relationship management and field sales operations.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers, pharmacies, distributors, wholesalers, or retail outlets.
  • Good understanding of sales reporting, merchandising, market analysis, and territory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territories will be an advantage.
